Garden in the Woods 7/16/2011

On the way home, rob, Erica and I stopped at Garden in the Woods. I wanted to take some pictures for their photo contest (I had a new tripod I wanted to try) plus it was just a nice day to be outside.

Garden in the Woods 5/22/2011

I originally drove out to Garden in the Woods- which is all the way in Framingham- to try and get some pictures of Mountain Laurel. unfortunately, it wasn’t blooming yet. But I got some great pictures none-the-less. It’s about a mile loop through the woods, where there’s a pond (with frogs!), a stream, and cultivated gardens of both native and rare species. I was very happy to see lady slippers 9and yellow ones, too). I had just commented to Rob the day before that we had them in our woods growing up and I hadn’t seen any in a long time.

Moose Hill 5/21/2011

The first of my stop at the Mass Audobon Society‘s wildlife sanctuaries. This one is in Sharon, so not too far away. Only problem- we forgot bug spray. It was a beautiful hike, but we got absolutely eaten alive! Overall it was worth it though, it’s very wooded, and there are some sections with ponds and marshes.

We saw these on the way home actually, they're either azaleas or rhododendron

I didn't realize rhododendron came in these colors, so much prettier than the purple!
