Ames Nowell State Park 5/14/2011

We decided since it was such a nice weekend to go to the state park, too. More baby geese! 2 families of them here. One of them was blocking the path for a while, and didn’t want to let anyone by at all. We walked through the woods a little, and just sat by the water and relaxed too.

Ames Nowell State Park 4/30/2011

In my quest to photograph as many parks/sanctuaries in MA as possible this summer, I was planning on going to the sanctuary in either Moose Hill or Marshville- but it rained most of the day. So when it let up for a while later in the day, I decided to go to the state park. It’s in Abington, but less than 10 minutes from us. It reminded me a lot of Gay City State Park as a kid- lots of woods around the lake, even the bridge looks similar.

Fiddlehead! They always remind me of Stephen King's The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, now.
