This was one of my most fun shoots of the year. Julia dances with the Melrose Youth Ballet, and wanted a photoshoot in some of her costumes. I love this spot on Harbor Walk because of the skyline, and the gorgeous golden hour light. I wanted to use the environment and background to compliment each of her costumes, so we did the lighter, warm colors at sunset, then after sunset switched to the black costume, with the colorful city lights and some flash to accompany it. It was a new but enlightening experience for me to be able to watch her dance and capture some of the beautiful movement and artistry. As you can see Julia is very talented, it was a new experience for me to photograph a dancer and I would love to do it again!
